Terms of Service
Last updated 22 May 2026
Draft — pending legal reviewWelcome to Veer. By using the app you agree to these terms. Please read them — especially the parts about cost-sharing and your own responsibilities.
What Veer is
Veer is a platform that connects people who are already travelling the same way so they can share a ride and split the cost of the trip. Veer is not a taxi, rideshare or commercial transport service, and is not a substitute for one.
Cost-sharing only
Drivers may only ask riders to contribute towards the running costs of a trip they were making anyway (such as fuel and tolls). Drivers must not profit from trips. Pricing tools in the app are there to help share costs fairly, not to run a business.
Driver responsibilities
- Hold a valid driver licence and a registered, roadworthy, insured vehicle.
- Comply with all road rules and applicable NSW and Australian law.
- Make sure your insurance covers carrying passengers who contribute to costs.
Everyone
- You must be 18 or over to use Veer.
- Treat other members with respect; harassment, discrimination and unsafe behaviour aren't tolerated.
- You're responsible for your own safety and conduct during a trip. Veer does not employ drivers and is not a party to the trip itself.
Payments
Where in-app payments are available, they're processed by Stripe. Veer may charge a small service fee to cover running the platform. Cash arrangements are between members.
Liability
Veer connects members but does not control trips, drivers or riders. To the extent permitted by law, Veer is not liable for the conduct of members or for anything that happens during a trip. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
